Diaper Products We Have Loved!
While I am by no means an expert on parenting, I thought for my next blog I would share about items that have helped us so far! This blog will be almost like a “series” as I will keep the items on theme! I will include links to the items too, some to Amazon and others directly to their site!
So for starters I want to share a few diaper related items we have loved! I am choosing to do this one first as Judah just got over a rough diaper rash.
Although Judah just got over a rough diaper rash, it was his first one. I have noticed that compared to others I know that use different types of diapers, Judah’s diapers may have helped in the fact this was his first rash! We decided to go with cloth diapers. While I know cloth may not be for everyone, we have loved it so far. The only blowout we have had to deal with is when he was wearing disposable diapers while traveling, but no blowouts in cloth (which in my opinion makes cleaning them worth it!). We chose to go with Charlie Banana where you “stuff” the pad into the diaper. However, there are other diapers such as Essembly that has an outer and inner layer so you can use the same outer multiple times.
In addition to the cloth diapers, we also use cloth wipes. Since I’m already washing the diapers, washing a few wipes doesn’t make much of a difference! The wipes we use are from Essembly and they have been great so far. I will also credit the wipes to helping mitigate diaper rash as I make a solution for them, so no harsh chemicals cleaning my baby’s bum! I use part Castile soap and part coconut oil. Wipes up well and soft on the bum too! Although some companies do make a premade mixture for cloth wipes!
We even take our cloth wipes on the go with us. I didn’t realize that was a possibility until someone gifted us to go wipe containers!
Even though I believe the diapers and wipes have helped mitigate diaper rash, diaper rash is still bound to happen. Poor Judah got a rough rash (albeit my mom told me it wasn’t as bad as I thought) and thankfully our diaper rash cream saved the day. Literally after using it once it was like Judah never had the rash! We use Earth Mama Organics and it works miracles (side note that their nipple cream works just as wonderful if miracles)! The best part is their creams aren’t harsh on baby or mom (and their nipple cream is great chapstick too). Another wonderful diaper balm is from MotherLove!
